FAQ

WHY DO I NEED A SECURITY SYSTEM?

Statistics say:
- There is an average loss of over $1,600 worth of property per burglary.
- 62.4% of burglaries take place while you are at work between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- 34% of burglars enter though the FRONT door verses 22% though a BACK door.
- 41% of homes with an alarm system were burglarized because the alarm systems were not turned on.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT YOUR HOME WILL BE BROKEN INTO THIS YEAR?

Unfortunately, according to burglary statistics within the United States, one in every thirty-six homes will be burglarized this year alone. This amounts to a burglary approximately every 15 seconds.
Security systems are one of those expenses you hope to never need, but you shouldn't be without one. A professionally installed burglar alarm system GREATLY decreases the risk of intrusion. Homes that do not have an alarm system are 2.7 times MORE likely to be targeted.

WHAT KEEPS YOUR HOME SAFE?

Sounding Device - This alerts you and lets the intruder know he's been detected.

Magnetic Contacts - These form a circuit between either a door and the door frame or a window and the window sill. When the door or window is opened, it sounds the alarm

Motion Detectors - Passive infrared or photoelectric detectors sense movement in a room.

Glass Break Detectors - These devices pick up the sound of breaking glass.

Monitoring - Emergency signals from your home are electronically transmitted to a central station, whose operators initiate a call to the appropriate authorities.

Panic Buttons - Commonly located next to a bed, alongside doorways, or as wireless handheld remote units, panic buttons can be manually activated in case of an emergency.

HOW MUCH IS ONE OF THESE SYSTEMS?

Generally, there's a security system for every budget. Costs vary and largely depend on which security features you choose and what you want to protect. When you're ready to buy your system, you can expect a one-time installation fee. If you choose to have your system monitored by a central station, you can expect an additional monthly fee.

Bonus: Insurance Savings
Your home security system can save you money. Typically, insurance companies offer between 2% and 20% discount on a homeowners' policy. Ask your insurance agent which types of systems will qualify for the greatest savings.
